Kids’ bedroom storage done right: Pinwheel Collection spotlight
Meghan Dyal of @ahoynative put the Pinwheel Collection of kids’ bedroom furniture to the test in her Tallahassee, Florida, home. Mixing the versatile, gender-neutral shelves, dresser, twin headboard and wardrobe helped her transform her son’s room into a playful and organized space he can grow into.
Designed to be safe, fun and functional, the Pinwheel youth bedroom collection is smart and sophisticated, and it includes clever functions and design details for children ages 4 to 12.
The Pinwheel Chest mixes three closed storage drawers, three open cubbies with adjustable shelves and knobs on either side for hanging.
Meghan placed the chest alongside the Kids Open Wardrobe on which her kids can hang the next day’s clothes or keep their dress-up supplies nearby.
A garment rod, bin for storage and two adjustable shelves are accessible on either side of the Kids Open Wardrobe.
A reversible back panel on the Pinwheel Dollhouse Bookcase allows for customization — either an ash woodgrain finish or a colorful wallpaper motif. The purpose of the kids’ bookcase evolves from a dollhouse to everyday storage, as the child grows.
Next to the Pinwheel Dollhouse Bookcase, the gable design on the Pinwheel Twin Headboard adds a playful, decorative look. A storage trough stores books or electronic devices. The twin headboard with storage attaches to a standard twin bedframe and can be used with the Bookcase/Footboard.
Meghan swapped the Pinwheel Dollhouse Bookcase with the Pinwheel Bin Bookcase for a different look and new type of kids room storage. The deep bin serves as a toybox for stuffed animals or extra blankets, and a reversible back panel gives kids the choice of a solid white bookcase or a pop of color in soft green.
