WoodTrac Donates To Universal Design Living Laboratory

COLUMBUS, OHIO (February 2012) – An advocate for sustainable living, WoodTrac, a division of Sauder Woodworking, has donated more than $7,000 of their WoodTrac Ceiling Systems product to the Universal Design Living Laboratory (UDLL) project.

UDLL is a demonstration home project designed to achieve three critical building concepts: universal design, green sustainable building and healthy chemical-free materials.

“Sauder is committed to the environment,” stated Dan Sauder, vice president of engineering and new markets at Sauder. “We're pleased to partner with Universal Design Living Laboratory to fulfill their mission.”

The project, due to be completed this spring, will serve as a training center for those who wish to learn more about the concept of universal design.

“For this project, Universal Design choose WoodTrac’s Bank Alder panels and cove molding,” said Jonathan Zublena, product manager for WoodTrac Ceiling Systems. “We are very proud to be a part of this project and can’t wait to see the finished result.”

WoodTrac’s donation to UDLL consisted of more than 2,000 square-feet of sustainable ceiling material for the basement and terrace level of the home.

“It was an immediate love at first sight,” said Rosemarie Rossetti, president of Rossetti Enterprises Inc. and homeowner of the UDLL, “We were delighted to know it was an Ohio company as well and were very pleased that they decided to be a part of our project.”

Plans for the demonstration home began in 2004 with more than 30 months of construction so far given to the project. WoodTrac is one of 170 companies to donate to the project.
